This will work on NEWER Windows O/S.
I have done this on times on my Windows 7 ultimate 64-bit.
To get ur ip address go to START-->All PROGRAMS-->ACCESSORIES-->COMMAND PROMPT***RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR
Type: ipconfig/all
(Look at your IPv4 Address)
HOW TO CHANGE UR IP ADDRESS USING A CABLE MODEM ONLY
1) Go to START-->All PROGRAMS-->ACCESSORIES-->COMMAND PROMPT***RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR
2) Type: ipconfig/release
THEN TYPE
---------
3) Type: ipconfig/new
4) NOW SHUT OFF UR COMPUTER FOR 5MIN
5) At the same time, unplug ur modem and all wires and cables to the modem for 8 mins.
6) After 5 mins., turn back on ur computer.
7) 3 mins. after that, plug back all wires and cables to the modem.
8) You will have to reset the "Local Area Connection" **ITS VERY SIMPLE
9) Either go to Troubleshoot Problems under "Networking and Sharing Center"
or Under Network Connection, right click the "Local Area Connection" adapter icon
and click Diagnose.
10) It will reset the "Local Area Connection" adapter and you will have a new ip address
11) Now go to START-->All PROGRAMS-->ACCESSORIES-->COMMAND PROMPT***RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR
and type: ipconfig/all
(Look at your IPv4 Address)
It has changed!!!!!
